Nearly Done

Image
Have just about finished my Christmas cards for this year. All ready to post or deliver so should beat the rush at the post office. These two I did today for two old friends as I wont be able to catch up before Christmas. Used an image from the Penny Black stamp set  the Wonder . They are just so cute and seem to be getting plenty of use this Christmas. The first one was made using scraps so I have no idea of the name of the PP and coloured with copics. The border punch is Stamping up and sentiment was a present last year from my stamping group (ACTSA).  Copics: Hedgehog E50,53,55,74,77,C7  Scraf & Mittens B12,14,16,18 Presents B45,93,99,Y04,YR16,YG07,09,R46 Sled E35,37,Multi Liner Sepia Robin E25,50,53,R24 Ground W3,5, Blender 0 Shadow B0000 The same image was used for the second card, just used different colours, and stuck fairly close with the same basic sketch. The PP for this was a freebie from Australian Simply Cards a couple of years ago. Coloured

I cannot believe I have not posted since April. Where has the year gone. I Really have no excuse, just seems there is never enough time to do the things you plan and family and trips away take over. Not that I am complaining as we had the most fab trip to Canada and Alaska. Also managed some time in LA doing the tourist things. Not much crafting but have a couple of Christmas cards and an ATC.The cards are for my DD's and I think I need some more time using my copics as it took for ever. Both cards and ATC use Penny Black stamps. Copics: Cat E13,17,18,31,35. Mouse W0,03,05,C0,B26,29. Tree G29,94,YG23,E17,27,29. Baubles Y11,27,YR14. Star Y15. Shadows BV0000,E70,71. This is such a gorgeous stamp and I tried getting some movement in the dress. Pretty happy how it turned out. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink   Copics: Skin E50,52,E11,13,41,R20. Hair YR00,12,E09,18,19,77. Dress BG11,13,15,49. Holly Wings & Holly YG05,09,G82,R14. Globe G

Progressive Christmas Challenge 4

Christmas Bells This is my first card for the latest Lady Anne's Christmas Challenge . The image from Priscillastyles  was coloured with copics (still addicted) then cut out and mounted on a Spellinders Stately Circle die. The PP is from an old Ruby Rocket pack and border die from Stampin up. Added some twine from Lime Tart  and a charm from Craft Queen . It was silver but didn't match so I coloured it with copic marker YR14.  Copics used: Bell : YR14, Y17, Y28, W7, C1. Ribbon : R27, R59. Leaves : G17, G24, G29. B/Ground : C0, C3. The Merry Christmas Die cut was coloured with G05 and R37 then coated with Glossy Accents.  I still have the second image but it will have to wait as I will be away for a week so no crafting.

Progressive Christmas Challenge 3

Image
Snowman Have not had much time for blogging but managed to colour and make a card with one the images from Lady Anne's Christmas Challenge . The two free images are from Anji's Antics  and I decided to do the snowman first. He was coloured using Jasart water colour pencils and love the soft look it gave. The snowdrifts are just torn pieces of cardstock, coloured and mounted on a piece of white card then mounted on a white card base. The stamped sentiment is from Dark room Door set Yuletide Vol 1.

Poppies

Image
Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 32 Have had this image for a while and thought the challenge over on Doodle Pantry was the perfect time to colour it up. The poppy has a special meaning for us in Australia on Remembrance Day. It is when on the eleventh hour on the eleven day of the eleven month, the nation stops for a minute's silence, to remember those who sacrificed their lives in war. On this day we wear a red poppy in remembrance. The red poppy has become a familar emblem of Remebrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in WW 1, their brilliant red colour an appropiate symbol for the blood spilled in war. In Flanders Field In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scare heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago  we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Colour Challenge AC158

Image
Playing with Distress Inks. The challenge at Annabelle Stamps  asks that we use the following colours. I didn't have the exact ones but thought these distress inks came fairly close. I stamped the flowers from the Designer flower stamp set in versamark, used white embossing powder and heat embossed them. The sentiment is from the Shape it up set and was also embossed. Used the distress inks over the top and this is the finished panel. A few shakes of water added to the distress look,  piece of ribbon for  embellishment, white and watermelon mats that was then mounted on a white card.

Progressive Christmas Challenge 2

Magic Wand Finally managed to finish my two cards for this Challenge  on Lady Anne's Challenges . Have been out of action for a week after my knee surgery. On the mend and trying not to hurry it. Still not allowed to drive and that is the worst of it. Hate having to depend on others. My first card is this gorgeous image from Stamp n Doodle  that I coloured with copics and added Sakura gelly roll in clear star for a bit of glitter. Hard to see on the photo. I cut it out, rounded the corners and mounted it on spellbinders resplendent rectangle die. Used Menento london fog ink for some colour and PP is Kelly Panacci  Let it Snow. Lace from WIP. Make it Manly Challenge 87

Image
Needed a quick birthday card for my DD's partner and 15 mins later this was the result. The images are from Tim Holtz the Journey. I stamped them on an old piece of light PP and tore and distressed the edges. Computer generated sentiment, a couple of brads and some twine and one quick card.  I am entering this in challenge 87 on the Anything Goes Challenge Blog .

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 168

Image
Spring is in the Air This lovely bird fairy seemed to fit the bill for the Springy, pastel colours challenge  on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. Stamped her on watercolour paper and coloured with my water soluble oil pastels. A great buy at $5.99 at my local Dollar store. Not a large range of colours  but that is maybe a good thing as it limits you. I am really happy with the result and think I will pull them out more often. They seemed to give it a lovely soft feel. The PP is from Graphic 45 6 x 6 Secret Garden pad, the scalloped border & sentiment from Kaiser Blae & Ivy paper pad,  flowers Prima and old ones from my stash. The leafy flourishes dies are from Fancy-that. Lace and ribbon from Lime Tart

Sketch Challenge Annabelle Stamps AC157

Image
May your Day be Special Pulled out my Star water colour  pencils and I like the result. Not many colours to choose from but sometimes that is a good thing. The card is for the sketch challenge over at  Annabelle Stamps   The image is from All things grow Stamp Set and was printed on watercolour paper with Ranger Archival black ink. Stamped the small reeds three times, the large reed twice and one of the butterflies. The fern from the set was stamped with versamark and the sentiment is from the same set. The PP is from the Kaiser craft Blae & Ivy 61/2 pad. CS from Creative Memories.

Geeky Love

Image
Getting Married Been awhile since my last post but have been busy seeing specialists etc and I am booked in to have my knee fixed next week. Only day surgery and should be back to normal in no time. Just so finally glad they found out what was causing all the pain and it is nothing major. Did managed this card for the card challenge at my local craft shop WIP . They make up packs and you have to use what they supply to make a card. You can add extras but the majority must be from the pack. I choose a digital image from Make it Crafty   called Geeky Love Getting Married as it seemed the perfect fit . I coloured it with copics and added the heart pins, red roses. Copics Skin: E000,E02, E11, E13. Hair Bride: YR000, YR12, YR16, E17. Groom: E47, E55, E57. Dress: W0, W1, W3, W5. Suit: C1, C3, C5, C7. Bouquet: R27, YG06.

Chookscraps Card Challenge

Image
One of my favourite sites, Chookscrap s has a monthly card challenge as well as other challenges and I have been abit slack lately with them. Well I have managed two so far and hope to do the others tomorrow. Card one was to use five PP's from stash and this is the left overs from a card I did for the Inspirational Challenge on ADAC. The details of the papers used are listed on that post. The cat stamp is an inche from Inkadinkado and as is the sentiment from their Cattitude set. Doily  by Cheery Lyn and hearts Creative Memories. The second card was to use only white and one other colour. Love the way this turned out. The border die is Tessatina from Memory  Box and it is so versitile and large butterfly die from Cheery Lyn. Added a sentiment from HeroArts, solid butterflies from Darkroom Door  stamp set Wildflower that I cut out.

Inspiration Challenge CDAC

Image
Birthday Hugs This is my card for the Inspiration Challenge  on CDAC using the colours below. The image is from Cuddly Bubbly by Pachela Studios and I coloured it using Jasart water colour pencils. The DP's are from Kaiser (blue & ivy), My Minds Eye (follow your heart), Echo Park (dots & stripes candy shoppe), Bow Bunny ( alora collection) and K & C Company (daisy pad). . Love that they are different 6 X 6 pads and yet they all match. The strips were cut using MFT  Fishtail Flag die, small doily from Cheery Lyn, and  added some gauze under image. The sentiment is computer generated and bling Kaiser.

1-4-1 ATC Swap

Image
Our monthly Stamp group has an ATC swap and as it is Canberra's centenary this year all the criteria revolves around thing happening in our lovely captial city. This month it was flora and fauna and this is my take on it. The stamp from stampin ups Bloom Away is a flowering gum blossom, coloured with copics. I did three and cut them out and layered them on a heated glue background coloured with acrylic paint.

New Addition

Image
Archie This page was done in honor of the latest addition to our family. Archie was found wondering the streets 51/2 months ago and has had a rough ride. He was destined for death row but was rescued by ARF  and fostered til a new home could be found. They discovered he has epilepsy and is about 70% deaf so finding a new home looked remote. That's when my DH saw him on-line and fell in love him him. The rest is history.  The PP is from Kaiser Base Coat range, stamps Tim Holtz Lost and Found and Ultimate Grunge. The watch wooden embellishment from Typo, clock face an old watch of DH, (could not throw that away),   old chain of mine. Stamp-in up border punch and old American craft letter stickers. Had to improvise as I didn't have all the letters but turned out okay.

Just for fun

Image
This started out as practice with my copics and I liked the finished image (Sugar Creek Hollow) so it ended up this card. The trouble with colouring first is it's often hard to match papers and these are colours I would not normally use. The PP on the background is an old scrap and the stripe piece was a small off cut that was just the right size. Used a Martha Stewart border punch, CS from core'dinations, ribbon Creative Crafts and Kaiser bling. The sentiment was a secret Santa gift at Christmas so I have know idea (maybe Kaiser). The image was printed 3 times, coloured and fussy cut, and mounted with dimensionals. Hard to see on the photo. Copics: Violets: V09, V15, V17, YR16. Leaves: G16, G17, G28, B39. Shadow: G0000, G000, G00, blender 0. Frame: BV02, BV08 I am sending this to a very special lady that has just come out of hospital. She is 87 and I know she will enjoy it.

Sweet Birthay Wishes.

Image
This card  was done for the CDAC Anything goes Challenge  and I had some fun with this one. I love the image from Sliekj Stamps  and it just cried out to be cute and girlie.  The PP is from Fancypants designs 6x6 Beach Babe pad, lace WIP , and flowers are from my stash. The leaves Martha Stewart and Carl punches. The large blue flower in the back nearly ended up in the bin as it has been floating around my desk for ages. Just trimmed the bottom to fit and another thing recycled. The image is coloured with copics and used glossy accents on the cupcakes. Copics : Mouse: R000, RV21, E70, E77, E74. Cupcakes: RV13, R81, E33, E37. Ground:  E43, E55, E57. Shadow: YR20. Sprinkles: Sakura Gelly Roll pens in variety of colours.

For My Darling

Image
Valentines Card Managed a quick card for my DH for valentines day and he was lucky to get one as it has been very hectic around our place.  The PP, sentiment and stickers are from Docraft s It must be Love collection. Metallic heart brads from stash and ribbon from WIP . This is the reason I haven't been doing to much.  We have acquired a new pet.  His name is Archie and he is a rescue dog, about 5 yrs old and has epilepsy. Because of his health problems they couldn't resettle him but he is gorgeous and how could you not give him a second chance. Did I mention he is also has only has about 20% hearing. He is settling in but hates being on his own. To this mix add our DD's Lab cross as they lost their house roof in a freak storm on Australia day and are in temporary accommodation for three months. Ah life wasn't meant to be easy but it sure is interesting.

Still Reelin' and a Rockin'

Image
I think I am still on a high after the Cliff Richards concert. It was a fantastic show and I don't care how old he is he can still bring the house down.  Tammy and I checking out the theatre in the afternoon. Our accommodation was right across the road so had time to shop as it was smack bang in the centre of town.  One fabulous weekend.

Birthday Card

Image
Happy Birthay A quick blog as I am supposed to be packing for Sydney. A dear friend has a birthday tomorrow and I whipped up a card for him as we will be catching up in Orange before we head off. The stamped images are from Annabelle stamps  and love the way it turned out. The background stamp is from Darkroom door  and I wanted a grunge look so lots of inking and distressing. The guitar is coloured with copics, cut out and mounted on the background. Tickets, I think from Tim Holtz, and twine. Background coloured with distress ink. PP is an old scrap.

Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge

Image
Nearly forgot this challenge as things got rather hectic this afternoon and we are going away for a few days. My youngest DD is a mad Cliff Richards fan so we are of to Sydney to catch his show. He is not coming to Canberra, and as Tammy is in Orange we have a few hours driving, so making it a nice long weekend. Some shopping, sightseeing and the show. The challenge  was a sketch and this is my take on it.   I stamped the image from the new Standing Tall stamp set and added a touch of colour with a watercolour pencil and blending pen. Stamped the sentiment from All things grow three times in brown ink. Mounted the image on spellbinders floral and nesting small oval. The pp was an old cutoff and can't remember the name. Buttons, small bling and ribbon to finish.

I printed the image twice, once on white then yellow CS and cut out the large star and sentiment and mounted them with dimensionals. Thought it needed just a little something more and this palm tree brad seemed perfect. Sorry but I didn't take note of the pencils.

This CAS card was quick and easy using a cuttlebug die and embossing folder that I then sanded. It was mounted on kraft CS and the PP is from the reject shop. Added a button with twine and ribbon. Love the clean look of this.

Been quiet here at home so plenty of time to just laze around and relax. Made two cards, the first one for the card challenge on   Chookscraps January 2013 card challenges The criteria was to use your copics and this is the result.Cut the image with oval spellbinders, PP scraps and hemp twine.   The second was done for AnnaBelle Stamps   topical Tuesday challenge to use one of the digi stamps. Coloured with watercolour pencils and used scraps left from my Christmas cards ( I need to clean my desk) and book binding ribbon.
Image
I guess I should start over this year and try to do more on my blog. I know I will never do it regular but my resolution is at least once, no twice a week to post something. The coasters  were supposed to be for my DD but never sealed them so a birthday gift done. The paper is old could be Basic Grey, stamps from http://www.darkroomdoor.com/  Essentials Collection Wildflower and Essentials 3 Co llections Butterflies. So simple and easy to make.
