Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge

Image
December Challenge Peace Santa As soon as I saw the image this month I had this picture in my mind of what I wanted to do with it. Taken me most of the month to find time to make the card but I'm pleased that it turned out the way I pictured. I stamped the world background stamp from Dark Room Door  with Ranger Archival Watering can ink and coloured it with distress ink Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass. I wanted it to have a softer look behind the image. Santa is coloured with copics then cut out with a pierced oval die from MFT . I printed two images and cut the banner from the second one and added it to the main image to give it some dimension. Used mounting tape to add it to the map that was then adhered to the black card base. The sentiment is computer generated and it is bigger than I normally would use but I wanted it to stand out. Copics:  Hat & Suit: R24,27,BG000. Belt: N3,5,7,9. Boots: W5,7,9,10. Skin: E51,R05,20. Beard: C0,1. Gloves: W3,5. Bann

Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge

Happy Christmas Little Star The freebie this month is from All Dressed Up and she is adorable. I wasn't going to post my card as everything that can go wrong did for this one. I was planning on using water colouring but printed in out on the ink jet printer on the water colour paper. They really don't mix and even heat setting didn't help. I hate to waste so I decided to use Prisma pencils but have never done it on the watercolour paper. The bumpy paper is really not the best surface, in fact it was hard work getting the pencils to blend but I persevered and I think I finally managed to achieve a reasonable card front. I am definitely going to give it another shot but later. The sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession  and the border snowflakes from Couture Creations but it is no longer available. They release so many and it is hard to get older ones. I adhered then to the image and then onto a blue card base. Still not all that happy with it but with Christmas just

Tis the Season This weeks Sunday CAS Challege on the Outlaws Blog is anything goes and as I am still in the Christmas card mood here is my latest effort. I used this delightful image from Bugaboo called Tis the Season  and love the way it came together so quickly. I printed the image and sentiment on Xpress it paper and colour JJ with copics. Used an old border punch from EK Success, added some bakers twine and two strips of red and a quick and simple Christmas card for some-one with a sense of humour. Copics;  Skin: E11,41,51,R20. All Dressed Up

Image
Dressing the Tree All Dressed up have so many lovely digis it is hard to choose a favourite but this one is high on the list. Have used this image before but have never posted the finished card so thought it was about time I did one. I kept it fairly CAS  and as usual it has been coloured with copics. The sentiment is from an old Verve stamp set called O Christmas Tree and it seem so appropriate with this image.Sadly it is no longer available which seems to be the case with so many of my old favourites. Adhered the two pieces to a blue card base with dimensional and a nice a quick card added to the pile I will have to post soon.  Copics: Skin: YR000,E41,93,R20. Hair: E47,50,55,57. An Other Christmas Card

Image
Kitten In a Gift Bag Another gorgeous kitten image from Gerda Steiner  and as my youngest is such a cat lover I think this might be her Christmas card this year. Have been trying to get them all finished so have not been posting them as I do them . Copics was my choice to colour the image and I then cut it out and framed it with a pierced square die from MFT . The sentiment die is from Impression Obsession  and the border is a punch from EK Success  though it is an old one that I have had for ages so not sure if it is still available. The ribbon is from SU. I added Diamond Stickles from Ranger to the hat and Clear Wink of Stella to the Stars. The ribbons on the presents have Dimensional Magic added to them to add some gloss but it doesn't show up on the photo. Copics:  Cat: E01.02,11,W10 Hat: R24,29,46,59. Bag: B0000,01,G0000,00,02 Stars: Y17,21 Tree: G24,28,29,E29,39,R59. Presents: R000,20,YR000,B21,23,37,39,C0. Ground: W0,1,3.

Polar bear Christmas.

Image
Merry Christmas Last month I used this lovely image from Deedee's images  and I just had to make another card with it. I used distress inks for the background again and cut the image slightly smaller and used different colour copics for the scarf. Added some snowflakes, the large one from Simon Says Stamps, and the small ones from a border die. I didn't keep a record of the copics and the sentiment. It is a mix of free stamps that I received with a Stamp magazine. Sadly Deedee's Images is closing at the end of the month so if you like her images you will have to get in quick. I will be sorry to see her go.

Merry Christmas Bear

Image
Shopping all Done This is such a cute stamp from LOTV call Jenny - All Shopped but it is no longer available. I use it every Christmas but they are always adding new ones so you can check for their new stamps. Their stamps are hard to resist. I coloured her with copics then cut it out with a oval die from MFT   then mounted it on an old scrap of PP. The sentiment is from Couture Creations merry little Christmas collection called Christmas Banners and the snowflake border is called tinsel and is also from Couture Creations. The snowflakes are Spellbinders and Cheery Lyn dies. I tend to cut an assortment and keep them handy so I can pick and chose the ones that suit my card. Some bling from my stash and some twine finished this panel that I adhered to an aqua card base. Copics:  Bear: E70,71,74. Hat: R24,35,37,N1,Bg10,,C0,1,3. Scarf: R24,35,Y13,15,17, Presents:YG21,23,B01,02,21,23,34,41,R05,41,C0,1,3. Bags: Yg63,G82,BG11,15. Tags: E000,01,42,43. Grass: YG23,

Voodoo King The image this month is from SLS Lines and it is different .This image is right out of my comfort zone but I must admit it was fun to do something I would never have chosen to do. Maybe I should try something like this again. The colours used are what I pictured in my head and are probably no resemblance to anything connected to a voodoo king. I just let my imagination run wild and love the look. Used my copics to colour the king and a stencil from MFT on the background. The background paper used is an old piece of coredinations core colour in a pale mauve that seemed to suit the image. The sentiment is computer generated. Copics:  Face: W1,3,5,9,R59,G00,N5. Hair: N1.5.7. Feathers: G17,29. Suit & Hat: BV22,25,29, White Gel Pen. Bottle: Y00,E77. Flowers: V000,01. Dolls: E70,71. Necklace: R37,C1,White Gel Pen. Rope: E40.

Gerda Steiner Monthly Progressive Challenge

Seasons Greetings This month we have the most adorable little bear to play with for this months Challenge and as I still need some Christmas cards he became my Christmas bear. Added a Chrissy hat,  and merry Christmas to the mug and he was ready to colour. As usual I went with copics and kept the card fairly clean and simple. The PP is from Create a Smile Snow dance kit and the sentiment is a die from Kaiser. Added glossy accents to the mug, some wink of stella to the hat, a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and another Christmas card done. Copics: Bear:E15,17,18,W10. Hat: R14,27,37,Co,1,3. Mug: R05,08,E29. Scarf: G05,09.

Deedee's Digi of the Month Challenge

Image
Starry Starry Night This month we are using the lovely Polar Peace set from  Deedee's Digis   for this months challenge. You can check out the challenge here .There are lots of lovely sentiments and the images are so cute. I printed of two images as I wanted to mask it and use distress inks for the background. For the stars I used liquid masking fluid and I'm happy with the result. Added some water droplets and dots with a white gel pen for snow and I had my starry starry sky. Used my copics to colour the bear and seal, added glossy accents to the scarf, large star and the noses and some Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment was computer generated. Copics: Bear: N1,3,C1. Seal: N5,7,9. Scarf: R14,24,37. Star: Y02,08. Water: B000,00.

60th Happy Birthday Card

Image
Check out my Package Made this card a couple of weeks ago but had to wait until her birthday to post it. I didn't want to spoil the surprise and she loved it. It was her 60th and as she loved the card I made for her Hubby for his 60th had to do a similar one for her. She is a redhead and I coloured a red haired girl jumping out of a cake for his card. The image I used for her card is called Special Delivery from Redonkadoodles  and I cased the sentiment from a card I saw on Pinterest by Collette. Love these cheeky stamps and they are so much fun to colour. I kept the background fairly plain as the image needs to stand out. The PP is from a 6 x 6 pad called Stella and Rose from My Minds Eye. The sentiments were computer generated then placed on the card with the image using mounting tape to give them some dimension. Copics:  Skin: E00,02,11,R02,05. Hair: E40,47,49. Present & Arrow: BG11,23. Ribbon: R20,22,24. Background: BG0000. I love the images from

Happy Birthday Dragon Card

Image
The Birthday Dragon I have a friend that loves everything connected with dragons and the colour purple and this is the result. The image is a digi from Doodle Dragon Studios  but not sure if it is still available. I have had this set for ages and it is such a cute image but there are so many more coming all the time. If you like dragons and monster this site is worth a visit. On my last post I said I didn't colour at all but I made up for it this time.  I coloured the image in copics and love the result. He is such a happy dragon and a joy to colour. I kept the card simple as the image is the star of the show and I thought anything extra would be a distraction. I did use glossy accents on the balloon and candle flame and black enamel accents on the eyes but it didn't show up on the photo.. Copics used: Dragon: YG06,09,17,Y06,17,YR18. Get Well Wishes

Image
Glad your on the Mend This card is for a friend that has just had his knee operated on and wont be able to ride his motorbike for a while. He also loves his golf so it was a toss-up what I would put on the card. The bike won and I thought it was time to use these great images I have had for a while and there was no stamping and colouring involved. I cant remember the last time I haven't had some sort of colour on a card.  The bike is a 3D decoupage though it doesn't show on the photo and the background paper is from an old My Mind's Eye 6x6 Designer Paper Pad called On the Bright Side. Computer generated his nickname and the sentiment, mounted it on a black card base and voila, a quick and easy card.

Deedee's Digis October Challenge

Image
Harvest Time Mr scarecrow is part of the wonderful images sent to us for this months challenge at Deedee's Digis. There were plenty to choose from but Mr scarecrow on his own won out. I copied him hanging on the signpost and the pumpkins to make this scene. They were coloured with copics then fussy cut and mounted onto the watercolour background. I used distress ink pads, blueprint sketch and mowed lawn that I stamped onto a piece of acetate, spritzed with water and then dipped my water paper into it. Love this easy way to do a simple background and it is different every time. Adhered it onto a ivory card base with a foam backing to keep it flat as it curled slightly. Copics: Scarecrow: Face: E70,71,R20. Jacket: B41,45. Pants: YG93,97,R24,Y38, Uni-ball Signo White Pen. Belt: C5,9,  Uni-ball Signo White Pen. Hat: E51,55,R08,Y04. Straw: Y06,17. Boots & Gloves: W5,7,9 Signpost: E27,29,31. Pumpkins: YR16,18,61,G94,99.

ACTSA 1-4-1 ATC Swap.

Image
Halloween Witch The topic for this months ATC Swap at the ACT Stamp Artist meeting is bats, witches, and Halloween. Had fun colouring this witch with my copics and love the way it turned out. She really stands out against the distress ink background. Short post as I still have some cards to finish tonight as I am busy tomorrow and need to get some sleep for an early start. Copics: Skin: E000,02,11,R20,R27. Hair: YR14,E08,09. Clothes: BV000,02,02,B17,29,C0,1,3,G82,YG67. Hat: G82,YG67. Armband: R08,BV08. Pumpkin: Y13,YR02,68,YG97,99. Broom: E13,74,79,W10.

Love you Pumpkin I made it for this months challenge. Hooray. Has been a very busy month and this is the second card I have managed to do. Just don't know where the time has gone but at least this one is ready to go. The free image is this gorgeous Hedgehog and he has the most adorable grin on that cute face. I coloured him with copics then cut him out with a MFT die then adhered it to my background. Made this by stamping with a background stamp from Darkroom Door  called fallen leaves that I coloured using distress inks to give it an Autumn feel. I added two orange strips to this panel then attached it to the brown card base. The sentiment was computer generated then cut out using a Mama Elephant die and attached to the card. I thought it was missing something so die cut some hearts with an old cuttlebug die and used mounting tape to add them on the left corner and one onto the sentiment. These have glossy accents over them  for a nice shine. Copics: Pumpkin: YR04,08,E1

Autumn's Splendour The image for this months challenge is this Autumn image donated by Gerda Steiner Designs and it was so much fun to colour. Gerda has so many cute images as well as clear stamps and her critters are just gorgeous. I decided to make a scene so added this Make it Crafty  tree, drew in the grass and then coloured it with my copics. I wanted to have a feel of the cold weather that follows Autumn and happy with the way it turned out, especially the sky. The PP is an old scrap from Hot of the press and added some burlap over the top of it before adhering it to the card base. I then adhered the matted image with mounting tape to the base to give it some dimension. A touch of Wink a Stella clear to the hat trim to finish, though it does not show on the photo. Copics:  Skin: E000,02,11,R20. Hair: E49. Hat & Coat: R24,29,87. Scarf: B26,29,Y13. Boots: N1,5,9. Wagon: N1,3,5,7,E70,71,74,79. Pumpkins: YR04,18,21,YG93,99. Tree: E27,55,57,YG95,97,Y

Spring Birthday It's spring here in Canberra Australia and this image is just perfect for a spring birthday. All the blossom and spring bulbs are out and the weather has been lovely and warm the last week. The image is the freebie from Ignacio by Nicecrane for the Outlawz Freebie Progressive monthly challenge. I coloured her with copics then cut her out with a Nellie Snellen  die, layered it on pink Spellbinder oval  and then on the Kaiser PP from their Chanteuse Collection. The flowers and birds were fussy cut from the same PP. The sentiment is from a set called It's your Birthday by Simon Says Stamp. Copics: Skin: E000,00,02,R20,21. Hair: E41,43 and Sepia Copic Multiliner 0.3. Hat: RV21,23,25,E49,71. Dress: RV21,23,25,YG03,91,93,95. Legs & Shoes: YG03,91,93,95,RV21,23,25. Background: R0000. Ground: W0,1,3.

Deedee's Digis September Challenge

Image
Enjoy Life My first time making a card for Deedee's   monthly challenge and love this cute elephant image . I printed it once then the leaves 3 times and then coloured them all with copics. I fussy cut the leaves and layered them around the image to give some dimension then added a computer generated sentiment. The PP is from Kaiser Base Coat 61/2 x 61/2 pad. The card base and matting cardstock is also from Kaiser. Copics:  Elephant: W0,1,3,5,7. Leaves: YR16,21,24,R08,29,YG63,G99. Shadow: G0000,000,00.

Fly me to the Moon. This gorgeous free mouse image is from Gerda  Steiner Designs  if you participated in last months challenge. She has the cutest images so if you want some free join the challenge each month. For this card I rotated the image and printed a large and small version. The background was found on line, printed to size and I stamped the bats and added more grass. I hand drew the pumpkins as I couldn't find any I liked and coloured everything with copics. Layered it on cream and light teal cardstock then mounted it on a darkbrown card base. The edges are inked and distressed and the sentiment computer generated. Copics: Mice: W1,3,5. Outlawz Sunday Cas Challenge

Make Some Noise Just a quick post as I had a mad dash to visit my DD Tammy. She lives 4hrs away and she has had a bad week with the news her precious cat has been diagnosed with diabetes. I just wanted to cuddle her and lend my support. Her little fluff ball Lilly is her baby but they think they can get it under control. I had started this card at home and grabbed my copics to finish it if I had time but that didn't happen. Lucky for me this weeks is anything goes so will enter it for that. The digi is from Birdie Brown but she no longer has her shop but still designs for MFT. The sentiment and music are from an old stamp set from Annabelle Stamps. She was an Australian online shop that is no longer in business. It was a shame as she designed some lovely sets. The music note is from a Darkroom Door set. Copics: Dog: E51,53,55,57. Top: BG13,15,49,YR07. Guitar: G0000,000,00,02,C1,3. Headphones: N9,7,W5,7. Ground: E71,74. Shadow: B0000. I am back home but w

Have a Beaut Chrissie The topic for this weeks colour challenge was hats. I choose this Aussie Santa  digi from Make it Crafty as he has a hat on and it means another Christmas card to tick of the list. The digi images that make up the scene are also from and they are so much fun to work with. The gum leaves are an old Stamp-it rubber stamp that I coloured and cut out. The PP is from the Kaiser Base Coat 6 x 6 pad and it is mounted on a black card base also from Kaiser. The scene is coloured with copics and I used some tumbled glass and tea dye distress inks around the edge for a bit more colour. Copics: Skin: E11,13,R02 Beard: W1,5,7. T/Shirt: R46,59. Shorts: C5,9. Outlawz Twisted Thurday Challenge

Image
To Someone Special The twist this week is All Dressed Up and the stamps from the Art Deco - Flapper tall urban set by Docrafts made the choice easy. Haven't used it much and needed a birthday card that was a bit different and I like the way this turned out. Used distress ink and sponged some colour on the feather and stole and left the rest of the image as is this was then fussy cut. I coloured two, one with lots of colour and this one and I like this version as it seems to pop of the black card. Cut the layers, used a Martha Stewart corner and edge punch, added bling, silver ribbon, and adhered it to a blue card base. Used mounting tape for the image and added clear Wink of Stella  but it's hard to see on the photo. Does shine and sparkle in real life. The sentiment and art deco border are from the same set.

Hugs and Kisses The sketch this week fitted in so well for me as I had just finished this Penny Black image freebie that I have had for ages. There were six free images in some card magazine and have been colouring them up for to have on hand to make some quick cards. These lovable mice just make me happy. I cut them out with a spellbinders oval die then layered it onto a scalloped die cut. The PP is from Kaisers Sandy Toes 6x6 pad that is layered on some pink CS, added the twine then adhered it to a white card base. Used a SU punch for the hearts and covered them with glossy accents for some shine. The sentiment is computer generated, die cut to match the image then adhered with mounting tape. Copics: Mice: W0,3,5,7. Large flower: RV21,23,25,E08. Small Flowers: YR61.RV21,E08. Hearts: RV29. Grass: YG:07,09,23,G09. Sky: BG0000,02. The Sketch

Autumn Leaves AJ choose the colour scheme for this week and they are perfect for an Autumn/Fall card. You had to use at least three colours but could use more if you liked. As it is spring here I googled some Autumn pictures to remind me of some of the colours I would need. I just picked the colours I wanted to use so they are not true to the Autumn leaves proper shades. I like the way they turned out and they went with my background. I think the term they use is poetic licence and I definitely used that on this card. The background is alcohol inks blended on glossy paper I made when trying out different colour combinations and this was perfect. Added strips of torn coloured card stock to the top and adhered it to black card leaving a narrow border. The tag is a die from MFT  that I printed the sentiment from Tiffany Doodles  on the bottom corner then taped it to the card. Added the twine and leaves with mounting square before adding the button and bow then mounting it to a fawn car

Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday Smiles The theme this week is circles and how could you go wrong with a circle card.  Well you can if you don't have something big enough to cut out the large circles. I water coloured these lovely  birds from Penny Black  then realised my spellbinders circle dies weren't big enough. Thought I would have to trace around something then hand cut them out when I remembered my old Creative Memories circle cutters. The trouble was it took me ages to find them and I was seriously thinking of starting again when I found them. So much for the quick card I thought I was making. The PP I found, when looking for the cutters, I liked better than the one I had picked out but it must be at least 10 years old and has no name on it so don't know who it's from. The smile stamp is from   Simon Says Stamp s and the happy birthday from Winnie & Walter that I combined to make the sentiment. It's a wonder my quick card ever made it to the finish line but I like it.

Outlawz Sunday Cas Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday The challenge this week was to use geometric shapes and I choose the safe old square as this is usually the format I use to make my cards. Nice and simple layout with the flower image cut into squares and then glued to dark grey, slightly larger squares to accent them. I used copic marker C7 to match in with the copics on the flower. Stamped happy birthday from Papertrey Ink  and it was done. Copics: Flower: N1,3,5,Y13,19,38. Leaves: YG23,45,G46. Background: C0,1,3,5. The image is one I never used and don't know who the artist is. If anyone does please let me know so I can acknowledge them.

Books/Reading. In the USA they are celebrating National Read a Book Day which is this Sunday so this is the theme for the cards this week. I have this digi image from TLC Creations and had this lovely idea to made my card with it but it didn't turn out as planned. I am not sure if I like it and it is definitely different to my normal colouring but you have to try things and I couldn't waste it. I printed it four times then coloured, fussy cut and layered it on PP to keep the monochromatic feel. The sentiment and heading I found on Pinterest and the pile of books with the cats I have had for a couple of years and finely found a use for them. They were all  fussy cut and I used mounting tape to adhere it all onto the card. Used copics and the border punch is from SU. I took a close-up (forgot when I took the card) to show the layers but the colour is not right. Copics:  Book: E13,17,18,19. Dress: E00.04,40,41,43,93,95. Hair: E18,47. Skin: E000,02. Added a

Outlawz Thursday Twisted Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday My second blog post on the same day is just about a record for me. I feel real happy with myself if I manage one but hubby has decided we need a day at the coast so had to get the Thursday challenge done to have it in on time. The twist this week is layers and I love layers. Most of my cards were like this until I discovered Cas cards so enjoyed making this for a dear friends 89th birthday. Vi is such a special person and I can imagine her looking like this when she was young. Used a stamp called Flapper Melody from Crafts and Me and the flowers, another old stamp called Dotted Flowers, from Heroarts that is no longer on their website. Found this lovely old scrap of PP in my stash that I stitched onto a piece of pink CS then adhered the doily from MFT  (no longer available) on top and added some green lace. Cut the image out with a spellbinders die and then adhered it to another piece of pink CS and mounted it over the doily with dimensionals. Used dimensionals to ad

Christmas  Shopping Done A great sketch this week and like the design team I decided it was time I started making some Christmas cards. I have been really slack this year as by now I would have had most of them done. I think the count this year is 3 so only about 42 to go. Thought I would give the copics a rest and do some water colouring. Distress inks are my favourite to watercolour with and I usually manage to not make to much mess with them. Happy with the finish on this cute image from LOTV   called Jenny-All Shopped but found it is no longer available. That seems to be happening a lot lately but I love using my old favourites. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders circle die then adhered to another circular die from Couture Creations from their Bobtail Set. The holly leaves I drew then coloured and cut out. I couldn't find the stamp I wanted so this was the next best thing. Added some pearls then cut a  Cheery Lynn  Snowflower die for the top right corner. All t

I Woof You! All about dogs is the theme for this weeks challenge as August 26th was National Dog Day. My biggest challenge was what dog to colour. My eldest DD as an adorable old dog that is such a big part of her life that I make lots of doggie cards with her in mind. I decided on this lovely image from Wild Rose Studios called Tilly with Flowers. I have used it so many times as is so versatile so was sorry to hear it is discontinued. They have a beautiful range of cute stamps. The greeting is from an old set from Kraftin' Kimmie called Canine Capers 1 . The image is coloured with copics then cut out with the largest stitched square die from Simon Says Stamp   and taped to a pink card base. It would be suitable for so many different occasions. Summers coming For the last few days we have had some lovely spring weather but last night the rain and cold settled back in. When I saw the colours for this challenge I thought summer is on it's way so this is the reason for flip flops and surfboards. I started with the PP from Kaiser Sandy toes 61/2 x 61/2 pad for my background and decided to paper piece the Tiffany Doodles digi surfboards in bright patterns. The dark green board is stamped using a heroarts background stamp. The sentiment, flip flops and hello is from a Simon Says Set as is the sunshine die. I coloured the hello stamp with copics then cut it out. When it was assembled I thought it was missing something in the top corner so coloured the hibiscus digi from MiC  a couple of times, fussy cut them and layered it in the corner.  I used copics to colour the hibiscus. These flowers remind me of warm tropical beach days. The sunshine die was cut three times to give it some dimension.   Copics:  Flowers: R14,46

Outlawz Monday Challenge

Image
Cupcake Counting Calories Was having a clean up so I had more space to work on my desk and came across this cupcake that I had printed out. I have a box that sits next to my printer and I tend to just keep adding all my scraps, things I plan to do etc. but nevet get round to. It hasn't been emptied for a while and it was full of some cool things and this was one of them. Don't know where I got it and who the artist is so I am thanking you if you reconise your work. I dragged out my Prisma colour pencils and had fun colouring it up. It's a nice change to copics and love the layered effect. When it was done knew it was perfect for the Outlawz's Monday Challenge . The sentiment is computer generated and I have a friend that will love it. The PP is from Fancypants Designs 6x6 pad called Beach Babe.  Here is a close-up of the layers as it was hard to see them on the card

Gerda Steiner August Challenge.

Image
Best Buds Freebie challenge. This image from Gerda this month is just so cute and I have kept the card simple to show it off. I used a background like this for an ATC I did last week and liked it so much I am using it again. This time I added the moon and some grass diecuts and love the finished card. The image is coloured with copics and the sky is brayered with a Kaleidacolor ink pad in blue breeze. It makes such a beautiful night sky. The stars are so easy to do with a white gel pen. Just add different sized dots and voila, a lovely night scene. The image was fussy cut and added using dimentionals and the sentiment was stamped in white ink with an old alphabet set from Making Memories.  Copics:  Dog: E55,57,W10, white gel pen for tail. Mouse: N1,3,5,W10,RV000, freckles white gel pen..

Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Image
Wishful Asha I can't believe it's the end of the month and that means my card for the progressive challenge is due. The image for August is this adorable Asha from Make it Crafty  that Zoe was so generous in donating. She is from the Meadow Girls Digi Stamp Collection and is sold separately as well. This is the first time I have coloured an image with such flowing hair as I didn't think I had the confidence but it's not as scary as I thought. It just takes time and the old saying is plenty of practice makes it perfect. I need lots and lots of practice. Used my copics and added a greeting from an old Hot of the Press set. The circle dies are from Spellbinders and the Stitched Squares from Simon Says Stamps. The image and PP was taped to green card stock then I used dimensionals to add it to a pink card base. The PP is from and old Pink Paislee pad called Spring Jubilee and I added clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly and flowers..    Copics:  Skin: E000,0

Superman

Image
Stay Calm Call Superman ATC It's the last Saturday of the month and  I'm of to my stamp group for the afternoon. I used to take lots of craft to do or finish but I finally stopped as it is more of a social event for me. I catch up with friends, buy things I could proberly do without and enjoy the demo's that they have each month. Even the techniques you have tried before but just don't use anymore have you thinking I should do that more often. The one thing I do love is the monthly ATC. Coming from some-one that used to just do scrapbook pages to a card 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 was quite difficult but I love these little mini masterpieces. This months theme is superman, space, rockets etc. and this is my finished piece. The image is from Tiddly Inks  and the die is from Taylored Expressions . The background is brayered using a kaleidacolor ink pad called Blue Breeze. White gel pen used for the stars and the sentiment is computer generated. The image is coloured with copics,

Twisted Thursday Challenge

Image
With Love The optional twist this week on the challege is to have an animal on your entry. I choose this cute digital image called best friends  from Tiddly Inks. Nice and easy to colour and these two just make you feel all warm and fuzzy. I used copics and then added some glossy accents to their noses, ribbons and the hearts over the sentiment. The seniment is from SU's Field Flowers stamp set as is the lace.  The border punch is from fiskars and the PP is a Webster's pages 6x6 pad called Trend Setters. The image was cut out with a MFT pierced oval stax die as was the sentiment. Copics:  Dog: E11,13,17,RV42. Collar:R59. Cat: N1,3,7,RV42. Collar: RV17. Bows: BG11,34,49,RV14,17. Bone: C0,1. Fish: BV00,G00,C1. Grass: YG11,13,17. Sky: B0000. Hearts: RV17.

Tis the Season

Image
Tuesday Colour Challenge Tic Tac Toe The Tuesday Outlawz challenge was to pick a line and make a card with the elements on that line.  I choose the left to right diagonal and I really had fun with it. Haven't paper pieced for ages and this stamp from Wplus9 is perfect for it. The stamp is no longer in their on-line store but it is an old favourite one of mine and so easy for this technique. I used watercolour pencils for the figure and scraps to paper piece the shopping bags in the colours I needed for the challenge. The holly is from the same set but I stamped the flowers on scrap PP with SU's Birthday Blossoms and cut them out. Added small red glass beads to the centres and three green pearls to the holly. The border punch is from Fiskars and the ribbon from my stash.

Let the good times roll

Outlawz Sunday Cas Challenge Friendship I have come to the conclusion that I am always going to be a procrastinator when it comes to my cards. I have a brilliant idea, (well I think it's brilliant) and of I go and then I start to think, maybe I should try this or not really happy with that. Before I know it I have completely changed it. Today was just like that. This weeks challenge is to show friendship on your card and I printed out a lovely image of a cat and a dog being the best of friends. Well this is the card that I ended up doing. A friend rang asking if I had a particular stamp and I spotted this stamp. These two girls look like they are the best of friends having a good time but it is so different to my original idea.... I am happy with it but does this happen to others. The stamp is Felicity and Blair  from Stamping Bella and I coloured it with watercolour pencils. Not quite as Cas as usual but think it still fits the criteria.

Sounds of the Sea

Image
At the Beach Sounds of the sea The colour challenge on the Outlawz Blog this friday is At the Beach and thought it was time to colour up this gorgeous image by Michael Powell called Coastal Getaway from Docrafts. Have had it for awhile and like the way it turned out. I used distress inks to colour it up and have left the card fairly plain as I think the image should be the focal point. The saying is a stamp from a Dark room door set called Seaside volume 2 and the background is from a SU set The open sea. I tore the image and background paper, then mounted the colourd image with dimensional tape to add a bit of interest.

Summer Flowers

Image
Outlawz Thursday Challenge Thinking of You The twist on the Thursday Outlawz challenge this week was to add flowers. Usually I would add bright colourful flowers but the image was done with water soluble oil pastels and it had a lovely soft look so this was what I went with. The image is an old retired SU set that I don't think I will ever tire off. The sketchy look always looks so nice when water coloured. I think the only piece on this card not old is the lace but it is srill an off cut.. I have so much scrap paper I don't think I will ever manage to use but I am trying. It's fun trying to match it all without cutting up new papers. Even the leaves are from a box of left overs that I keep just in case. The pastels used I bought for $6 dollars a few years ago at  my local thirft shop and I was surprised that they work as well as they do. There are only 12 in the set but they blend well and are fun for a quick card.

Male Birthday Card

Image
Birthday Splash This week at the Outlawz Sunday challege the theme was nautical and this adorable whale from Gerda Steiner  had not been inked so thought it was time. Gerda has so many cute images and they make great cas cards. I aslo used the wave from the  Simon Says Stamps set called Sailing. Used distress inks to colour the images and the rope ribbon is from  Darkroom Door . Great male birthday card and quick to whip up.

Getting older

Image
Happy Birthday Princess The theme this week at the Outlawz colour challenge is kids/family and as it's my youngest daughters birthday this month it a was perfect choice. I am still having trouble picturing her as the big 40 when I still think of her as my baby princess. The years just seem to have flown and I am starting to feel old age creeping up. Hubby says you are only as old as you feel and I feel great but that glimpse in the mirror sometimes reminds me that we all have to age. I just want to do it gracefully. The image I choose is Mo Mannings   kisses and love the way it turned out. Copics was my go to medium to colour it with and I left the rest fairly plain and simple. The PP is an old left over piece and the sentiment is computer generated. I have lost my list of markers used but I know the dress was coloured with this combo. RV93,95,99. Not one I have used before but think it will get used more often. I am entering this in the Bizzy Becs August Challenge. The
