Gerda Steiner Designs Monthly Challenge

Image
Have you been good. This is such a cute image this month, well every month they are cute but this one is sooo cute. I kept it simple with a round window showing a snowy scene and with the temp here in the 30'sc I wish I could have really had snow outside. Cut a frame for the window and coloured the sky with faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress inks and added two snowbanks. Used a white gel pen for the snowflakes. Santa was coloured with copics and adhered with mounting tape for dimension. Copics Skin: E000,01,53,R12,20. Suit & Hat: R08,37,89,B0000,000,00. Gloves: E70,71. Boots: N1,5,7,9. Beard: C0,3. List: E000,Y000,00.

Merry Christmas From Down Under This is the a different snowman card as the weather here is hot, hot, hot. It just didn't seem right to make a card with snow when I was sitting in my room with the cooler on a steady 20c and outside it's 32c. We have had a run of hot days and with Christmas I just haven't had the time to post my card. I made a Sandman chilling on the beach and like the way it came together. The background is a Digi from Make it Crafty  that I reversed and added a computer generated sentiment to. The sky is coloured with tumbled glass and salty ocean distress inks and the rest with copics. I fussy cut the sandman after I coloured him with copics and layered him on the background with mounting tape. This was then adhered to a brown mat and then unto a kraft card. Added some glossy accents to the buttons and carrot. Copics:  Sandman: E55,51,53,55,57,W10. CarrotYR07. Flower: R08,37,89,YR16. Hat & Scarf: B00,12,14,N1. Sign: E23,25. White

Merry Aussie Christmas This month it's all about Christmas and as we have hot sunny weather down here in Australia I went with an outback Aussie look. Gum trees, blue skies and red earth is the backdrop for this Christmas pup. The gum tree and fence are from Make it Crafty  Outback scene set and the puppy this months freebie from Gerda Steiner Designs  that I made into this scene. The gum leaves are from Stamp-it that I coloured and then fussy cut. The image was coloured with copics and then mounted onto a brown mat. I adhered a sheet of designer paper from kaiser 61/2 inch Base Coat paper pad to the card base then the image on top. Have left it to the last minute as usual but still have time to upload. Copics: Puppy: E42,44,W10. Hat: R24,46,C0,3,5. Present: BG10,11,15,23, Black Multi Liner 0.1  Tree: E71,74,77,YG61,63,67. Fence: W5,7,9. Ground: E13,YR14,18,21. Grass: G46,YG94.99. Micemas Post This month the freebie is this adorable image from Di's Digis . I have a few of these cute critters and they are a joy to colour. I used copics and then went around the edges with broken china and pumice stone distress inks. The sentiment is from Penny Blacks The Wonder set. The panel was then adhered to black cardstock and onto blue PP from the Echo Park 6 x 6 Season's Greetings pack that I added some white organza ribbon and silver cord to before adhering it to a black card base. Added some Wink of Stella for some shine and another Christmas card done. Copics:  Mice: E40,51,53,55,R20,W1. Santa Hat: R37,59,B000,01,C0. Post Box: R14,27,29,46,N1,3,5,7,E41,44,47,49. Juggling Tiger This months image is from Gerda Steiner and is this cute image called juggling tiger. Gerda has an amazing range of cute animals in both stamps and digis and they are so easy to colour. I used copics for all of the colouring except the sky. I masked the images with masking liquid and then blended with tumbled glass and stormy sky distress inks. I find I usually get a nice smooth blend if I just take my time. The stump is an old stamp from Whiff of Joy which had only one flower so I stamped 4 more then fussy cut them out and added for some dimension. I finished by adding glossy accents to the balls and the tigers nose after I mounted the coloured panel onto dark blue then a lighter blue card base. The sentiment is computer generated. Copics: Tiger: YR00,02,04,18,E43,49. Balls: BG23,R46,Y18.YR68,BY02. Stump: E41,43,44,47. Grass & Leaves: YG21,23,25. Flowers: Y04,08,E07.

The Swinging 60's This month the theme is all about the 60's and this girl fits perfectly. Love the flower patterned dress and those long white boots. I can relate so well to that time and I had a pair of boots just like these. The image is melody from Make it Crafty and after colouring her with copics, fussy cut her out and  adhered her to the base with mounting tape. Had fun with the base and love the way it turned out. First I used scrunched up cling wrap dipped in Jo Sonja pale gold acrylic paint and daubed over a white card 21/2 x 31/2 leaving lots of white space. Next just picked some bright distress inks and blended them over the card. Hard to see the gold shining through but it looks great. Decided it needed some stencils but used a translucent paste instead of white and love the subtle finish. The title was computer generated and the black makes it pop against the bright colours. Copics: Skin & eyes: E00,01,13,R20,B12. Hair: E40,41,42,44. Dress &

Brrr... Cold Hedgehog The freebie image this month for the challenge is this adorable hedgehog and I enjoyed making him look cold. I kept the card fairly simple by masking the image to colour that large moon with squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade and a touch of  faded jeans distress inks. Next I masked the moon and used faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress inks for the sky and flicked on some water droplets for contrast. For the image and grass I used copics and drew in some extra grass as it looked to plain. The Brrr... was cut out from and old cuttlebug alphabet set three times and glued together to give some added dimension. Edged the image with chipped sapphire before adhering it to some orange card then onto a blue card base. Copics: Hedgehog Hair: E13,17,19,29,37. Body: E70,71,77,W1. Scarf: BG0000,11,15. Pumpkins: YG97,YR18,21,Y38,E19. Apple: R12,17,46,Y13. Pear: G21,24,YR12. Grass: YG03,61W3,5.Black Multi Liner.

Just playing with distress inks

Winter Trees Friday was such a wet miserable day so had lots of time to have a play with my distress inks.  Made a few panels and decided to stamp some winter trees to match the day and these two are my favourites. The colours on the first one are twisted citron, mustard seed and spiced marmalade and the tree is from Darkroom Door  appropriately called Winter Tree. The second card combo is peeled paint, tumbled glass, stormy sky and faded jeans and the stamp is Silhouette Oak Tree by Sheena Douglass . Nice and simple cards and helped pass a miserable wet day.

Parachute Piggy The Freebie this month is this cute image of a pig parachuting and since I am on a roll this week with Christmas cards it had be a card to add to the pile. I printed the image twice, one for the base panel and one to colour and fussy cut. The base panel was cut to 5 ins and I masked an area at the bottom for the snow bank and used distress inks for the sky. When I was happy with the colour I stamped the tops of the trees from the SU Wonderland set in versafine black ink, removed the mask and added Shaded Lilac to the snow bank. Added snowflakes with MIC Falling Snow background stamp using SU Whisper White ink. Coloured piggy and the parachute with copics, fussy cut them out and adhered them on the card panel. The banner is from SU Hello December and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Vintage Ornaments and I used mounting tape to adhere it for some dimension. The panel was then mounted onto a 51/4 in white card base. The distress inks used Tumbled Glass, Salty O

Sunflowers Have been slack this month on my blog but a least I managed to get the monthly challenge card done, just kept forgetting to get it uploaded. Normally it's the last day but I'm 3 days early. For some reason this month has just flown and I can't believe it's three months til Christmas. Need to get a move on with my Christmas cards. The image this month is a beautiful one from Di's Digis and I had fun colouring it with copics. If you haven't checked out the store you are missing out on some adorable images and she also has a fortnightly challenge. The card is Cas but I think it packs a punch. I printed the image twice and after colouring them both with copics, fussy one and added it to the white card with mounting tape. Added the hello with a stamp from Inspired by Stamping , adhered it to a yellow card then to a green card base. Nice and simple. Copics: Flowers: Y11,13,19,YR14,15,26,E19, Black Multi Liner 0.03 Leaves: YG11,13,17,67.

September Swap Art Nouveau This month was a tricky one and it took awhile for me to come up with a suitable design. Google was a life saver and I found plenty of frames for that period to download for free. Next was finding a stamp to use with it. As we are a stamping association there has to be a stamp on the trading card and it can be a sentiment, background or image. The lovely girl image on the Melody set from Darkroom Door   was a perfect fit for the frame and I love the finished ACT. I coloured the frame and image with copics then cut out the centre of the frame and placed it over the image. Kept the colours similar to the pictures I saw on Google. Copics: Frame: G00,12,Y00,02,YR02,07,68. Flowers: YR18,38,E08. Skin: E000,00,01. Dress: YR000,12,23. Pipes: E55,57. Background: BG000,00

Spring is in the Air This adorable fox is the freebie image for this month on the Gerda Steiner Blog . With spring just a couple of days away down here in Australia I made a card with blue skies, green grass but with bare trees. Still cold here in Canberra but some blossoms are starting to bloom. I used distress inks for all the colouring, a tree die from Cottage Cutz and one from Simon Says Stamps for the grassy slope. Distress inks:  Fox: Tea Die, Dried Marigold, Picket Fence. Sky: Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky. Grassy Slope Mowed Lawn.

Woman Hear Me Roar Love this image and my first thoughts were how confident and completely in control she looks. A girl with attitude hence the title. That Helen Reddy song sums it up beautifully. Kept it Cas so the image stands out and coloured her with copics. The stripes of card down the sides were coloured in the same colour as her dress. Love doing this so I don't have to worry about matching cardstock.  Copics: Skin: E11,51,R20. Hair: E40,49.50,74,79. Lips & Eyes: R56,85,G43. Fress: BV31,34. Flowers: Y000,04,YR02,G43,C0. Enjoy the Journey Steampunk This was a fun ATC for me as I had never really embraced the steampunk look but I think I might have been missing out. Checked out Pinterest and Google then went looking for stamps. Was really surprised how many I found that was suitable and I had really not played with. Is this a sign I have far to many and should not be buying more? Don't really think that will happen. I started with a old piece of  background paper and tore it to fit a 31/2 X 21/2 piece of cardstock. Glued it down then coloured with distress inks. Stamped images from Stampers Anonymous Tiny Things  and Ultimate Grunge   by Tim Holtz but it needed more so used an old stamp from Urban Stamps by Docraft called Chronology (cogs) and the small Eiffel tower by Justjohanna. The extra embellishments are from my stash and a Tim Holtz Game Spinner.  The sentiment was computer generated. Distress inks used: Hickory Smoke Brushed Corduroy Vintage Photo Old Paper Antique L

Make a Wish Have a lovely friend that just loves House Mouse Stamps  by Stampendous so had to make a birthday card with this cute stamp. They are so much fun to colour and she loved it. The card base is light kraft that I adhered a piece of PP and some checked ribbon to. The coloured image was adhered to a piece of teal card stock and then I used dimensionless to add it to the card. The sentiment was computer generated and my medium to colour the image was copics. Copics: Mice: W0,1,3,5,7,R000. Hats: YG11,13,25,B23,24,R81,85. Icecream: E27,47,49,R000.02,12,YR00. Cone: E11,13,15. Swimming By To Say Hi This lovely mermaid is this month beautiful image from Gerda Steiner designs for the monthly challenge. Gerda will send you the freebie every month if you join and buy the first one and make a card etc and link it to the challenge. A lovely way to add to your digi collection and her images are adorable. I enjoy making scenes and this one is maybe a little bit fussy but it was fun. The background is made by colouring water colour paper using distress inks then adding salt when it is still wet. The salt absorbs the moisture and you are left with this lovely mottled background. I used heavy cardstock on this card as I wanted a more spotty look. The mermaid and shells are coloured with copics and the seaweed and small fish are  from a stamp set by Kaiser called Mermaid tails.  The shells are from two Darkroom Door sets called Seaside Vol 1  and Seaside Vol 2  and some extra seaweed from the Under the sea set . The sentiment was computer generated. Copics:

The Lighthouse This month the image for the challenge is this lovely lighthouse drawn by Laurian the Design Team Leader. I love the sea and had fun making this card. Recently bought a new die called waves, from Couture Creations, so this was the perfect time to try it out and I love the result. I printed the image twice, used one for a mask so I could distress ink the background then coloured it with copics. Cut the wave die and then used sections to frame the rocks, added white gel pen highlights and I had a nice stormy sea. The beams are white SU ink and the stars white gel pen. Copics: Lighthouse: N1,3,5. R14.46. Y32. Rocks: E53,55,57.

The Elegant 50's The theme this month is the Elegant 50's and Dark Room door has this fabulous stamp set called Just My Style  that is perfect for this era. I used water colour pencils for the image and distress inks for the background. The stamps I used on the background and the sentiment are from Just My Style and another great set called 1920's Chic , also from Dark Room Door. The Eiffel Tower stamp is an old one by Justjohanna. Had fun playing with the background and love the way it all turned out.

On Line Class Heat Wave Day 3

Image
Resist Day 3 Today there were some interesting embossing videos and I decided to case a technique and card by Kristina. I remember doing this years ago but this time I had a lot of trouble ironing of the embossing so I could stamp on top of it. Finally was happy enough with it to make a card but I think I will try another embossing powder next time to see if it makes it a bit easier. The background stamp is from Hero Arts called Dots Background and the sentiment from the Stampin Up set  Really Good Greetings. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to paint the background and the hearts were embossed with a coarse embossing enamel to give it a thick glossy finish. Added a few sequins to finish it of.

On Line Class Heat Wave Day 1

Image
Heat Embossing  Decided to do the embossing heat wave class with Kristina and Jennifer then realized I was away for all of it. I have been in Bali for 8 days and was so tired when I arrived home it has taken a couple of days to get motivated and to check out Day 1. Some great ideas and it's nice to revisit the tips and tricks of old favourites. Did manage to get a card done and used my new stamp set from the latest SSS kit.  called Hand Written Floral Greetings. Stamped the background on watercolour paper, then the flower and extra leaves on another piece, and coloured them with distress inks. I then fussy cut them out and mounted some leaves and the flower to give the card dimension. The flower and the hello die from Kaiser is gold embossed and I also gold embossed the card base edges.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon I thought I had posted this on my blog but for some reason I just did a draft and then forgot about it so here it is better late than Never.  This months freebie is from Beccy at Beccy's place  and she has to be one of my favourite digi artists. She has so many gorgeous images and such variety that's it hard to choose just a few. I love her rocking chair but I struggled with this image at first but now it's all done I like the relaxing feeling the card seems to evoke. At first I was just going to use the chair but thought it needed something else so I added this umbrella . I coloured the images with copics and used a warm grey for the shadow. The background was done with Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron distress inks. The panel was mounted on blue CS, adhered to a PP panel from Kaiser's Sweet Nothings 6 1/2 in x 6 1/2 in pad then onto a card base. A nice clean and simple card that makes me want to spend a lazy afternoon just reading in this r

ACTSA 1-4-1 ATC Monthly Swap

Image
Dinosaurs This ATC is for our monthly swap so had to have it done.  This month the theme was Origins of life - prehistoric -dinosaurs, cavemen, tribal Africa. Plenty to choose from and I finally went with dinosaurs. This triceratops, palm tree and volcano is from Gina K  designs called Dino-mite that I have had for ages and is such a versatile and cute set with great  sentiments.  It is such a shame it is no longer available. I stamped the dinosaur twice, once on watercolour paper then on a scrap piece to use for a mask. I fussy cut the one on the scrap paper, placed it over the image on the watercolour paper, then stamped the volcano and palm tree. I used my distress inks to colour the scene. This is the second project on my to do list so just one more and I can think about getting ready for my Bali trip.

Friends For Ever I cant believe it has been a month since I last posted on my blog. I know I'm not the greatest at keeping it up to date but things have been in a bit of turmoil here. Just haven't had much time to craft and after three sympathy card I really didn't feel very inspired. They say things come in threes so hope that is true. Have three projects that have to be done and this is the first. This turned out fun and was just what I needed. This card was made with the freebie Penguin  for this months Gerda Steiner challenge. There is still time if you want to purchase this image and enter the challenge. If you do you will get next months image free and add another lovely digi to your collection. Added some friends for the picnic, you can find the images here , as he looked rather lonely by himself. I coloured the scene with my copics, layered it on yellow card then onto a wood grain PP from a Cre8tiv 6 x 6 mini pad. This was then adhered to a matching yellow ca

Art Deco  I cant believe it is the end of another month and time for our monthly stamp meeting. This year just seems to be flying away so fast. The theme for this month was Art Deco and I usually only do the ATC (Artist trading card) swap but since I have a few stamps for this period and some time I entered the card challenge as well. They were both coloured with copics and on the ATC I used only stamps from Docrafts Tall Urban Stamp Art Deco - Flapper and then mounted it on matching card.  ATC Copics:  Skin: E000,01,02,R20. Hair: E40,41. Dress: BG11,13,14,49,N3,7. Gloves: BG75. Background: G0000,000,11,13. Feather & Sttole: N1,3,5, Flower: YR00,12. Corner & Panel: G000,11,YR00,12. Relax This months image from Gerda is an adorable mouse and when I first saw it my thought was having a relaxing time on a tropical island. So here is the result. The background scene is from Make it Crafty  and I rotated it so the word would fit in the right hand corner and the mouse take centre stage. Coloured the scene with copics, adhered fun foam for dimension and then popped it onto a piece of white card then onto a brown card base. The word is a die from Simon Says Stamps . He looks like he is having a good time and as the temp was -1 C this morning I needed warming up. Copics: Mouse: C0.1.3.5.7.R20 White Gel Pen. Glass & Straw: BG10,11,C1,YR07,R08. Palm Trees: G24,29,94,99,Y26,28,E57,79. Sand: E000,50,51,53,55,57,79. Water: BG01,05,13,15,35. White Gel Pen. Sky: BG0000,B000,002. Clouds: C0,1.

Clean up result Card

Image
Lets take a Spin This card came about because I decided to clear off my work space. I found a pack with lots of home-made backgrounds that I guess I was probably going to use then they just got lost in the mess. I really like a few off them so the cleaning was relegated to later and this is the first card I made. I do a few male cards and as we belong to the Harley Owners Group I have lots of bike stamps that don't get used enough. This image is from Bombshell Stamps  and is nice and easy to colour and doesn't need much added to make a quick Card. Layered the image on some torn coloured CS, adhered to background paper then black card base. The sentiments are from the same set and the metal tag is from Tim Holtz idea-ology Word Bands...The desk is not much tidier but at least I got rid of one piece of paper and had fun. More cards will be on the way. Copics: Bike: C0,1,3,5,7,N3.5.9,R46,59. White Gel Pen Ground: W3,5.

Best Friends Forever When I finished colouring this image I think I had one of those moments when you sit back and say I am so happy with this. Doesn't happen often but definitely with this. The image is Fifi from Ppinkydolls and it is adorable with those big expressive eyes. No planning, just printed the image (thought it was too big) but just started colouring anyway and it all fell into place. The skin tones are colours I would not normally choose but they worked. Thanks to Colleen Schaan from a Copic in the craft room for the YouTube on light skin tone colouring. Love, love the look, especially as it is such a prominent feature on the image. The cat is done with the neutral greys and matched his eyes to Fifi's green ones. The clothes are done in soft shades so they don't distract from that beautiful face and the hair light blond. These images are great to colour as the shading is already there for you to follow and makes it so easy as you don't have to worry wh

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challege

Image
Mermaid's Wish With hubby away for a week I have had more time for playing in my craft room. I love the Wednesday sketch at Outlawz so here is my take on it. The image is called little mermaid from Digistamp Atelier  and so easy to colour with the shading done for you. I reversed the image to fit in with the sketch and coloured her with copics. The PP is from a kaiser 61/2 x 61/2 paper pad called Sandy Toes and I choose the sentiment and shells from the matching collectables set. So easy to to co-ordinate everything as they do the hard work for you. Used circle dies from spellbinders to cut the image out and adhered it to the wood panel. This was them mounted onto the card base with  dimensional tape over the twine. Decided it need something else so added a strip of pp next to the wood panel. Copics: Skin: E000,00,01,02,R21. Hair: N1,3,7,white gel pen. Flowers & Leaves: Y13,18,YR15,G05,28. Tail: BG10,11,13,15. Rock: E50,53,55. The background was colo

Last of Spring Haven't used watercolours for a while so dragged them out for this corner flower garden from SU. I distress inked a background, placed a stencil over it and sprayed it with some water that had perfect pearls added. Gives it a lovely soft pattern that doesn't distract from the flowers. Used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours for the flowers then spent ages fussy cutting them out and used liquid glue to adhere them to the background. Won't be doing that again any time soon but love the finished look so it was worth it. Stamped a greeting with Versamark ink on some black card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Wasn't sure if I liked it so did another one on white card with black embossing but went with the black.

Just having fun Colouring

Image
Girl with the red Hair Had this image from Jenlee at Digistamps4Joy  sitting in my images to colour box for awhile and decided to have a play. I admire those ladies that seem to do the most fantastic hair with copics and tired some new colours. Realise I still need a lot of practise but it was fun.  Have a dear friend that is not looking forward to her birthday this month as she thinks she is getting old so this will be for her and hope it will cheer her up. She is younger than me and awesome so I should be the one worrying. The PP is a Stamin Up piece left over from a project, (think it was from a Christmas collection) and the awesome die from Verve  was cut from the same colour CS as one of the card mounts. The image is mounted on purple card to match the card base and I added some purple twine, Glossy accents for some shine on the awesome and Wink of Stella on the flowers. Actsa April Artist Trading Card

Image
Nefertiti Ancient Civilizations This month at Actsa we had plenty of choices for the April ATC. Roman, Creek, Egyptian, Mayan, Inca, Aztec or any other ancient civilization. The choice for me I thought was easy as I had two Egyptian rubber stamps till I realized I didn't know the name of one and no idea the maker as it is not marked. Thank goodness for Google search. Nefertiti was the wife of the Pharaoh Amenhotep 1V and mother-in-law of  King Tutankhamon. Found some great pictures so was able to colour the image in similar colours. I cased the background from a post on  Andrea's Happy Place and it is so much like hers I hope she doesn't mind. I saw it on the April challenge over on Make it Crafty  and knew it was perfect and had to give it a try. I scanned the coloured background after it was done, softened it with photoshop and added the title with papyrus font. It just all fell into place for once. The image can be found here   on Make it Crafty and Zoe has so man

Hanging Around. The free image this month is this cute monkey and just had to make a fun birthday card with it. Coloured him with my copics and used some Broken China distress ink around the edges to darken the background before gluing it to piece of wood panel PP. Drew the balloons, coloured them and then fussy cut them out and added thread before adhering them to the image panel. This was then mounted to green PP and onto the light brown card base. Had to add some sparkle with my new Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the balloons. A card has to have some sparkle somewhere. Copics:  Monkey: E11,13,15,17,18,RV02. Branch: E23,25,27. Happy Birthday Mum This month the freebie for the challenge is a lovely image from Andrea Norris of Sheepski Designs . I decided to make a birthday card and will give it to a friend for her Mum. The image is coloured with copics and I kept it clean and simple The sentiment and banner die are from the Hero Arts March kit. Used silver embossing powder on the sentiment, die cut it with the matching die and adhered it to the card with foam tape for some dimension. Added a few sequins and adhered it to a pink card base. Copics: Flowers: RV000,21,23,91,YR14,YG07. Mum: B34,37,39. Background: G0000,000. Added Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear sparkle pen to the Mum.

Let it Shine Altenew Academy On-line Class

Image
Glitter, Glitter, Glitter. Decided to do an on-line class with Altenew Academy called Let it Shine to try and use up some supplies that have been gathering dust. I have sooo much glitter and it's not something I use very often so thought I'd get some inspiration and put a dent in my stash. I am enjoying it but this is my only card I have made so far.  Mogo is not in top shape at the moment. The frame was a gift and has been sitting on my desk for ages and was perfect over the distress inked and stamped background. I stamped a flower and leaves from Altenew's Lacy Scrolls then fussy cut them and adhered them over the frame. I embossed the sentiment  from the Big Hello set from Inspired by Stamping on black card with Zing green embossing powder by American Crafts. The glitter backing was made using a sticky sheet and Saffron Micro fine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Added the extra lime green mat as I thought it needed a Lift. Not my usual style but I like it and I h

Can I Eat It. Heading off this weekend to the National Folk Festival for their 50th bash. Just love this event and with 4 days of non stop folk music this old hippie is over the moon. Will post some photos later. But now time to catch up with some challenges. This lovely dragon is Clyde  from Bugaboo and he is not coloured green in my favourite go to colours. Need to step out of my comfort zone sometimes and this is the result.. He looks different in blue but I like it. He is for the  Sunday cas challenge at Outlawz and the theme was Goof of day and I think this image fits the bill. Coloured spring Clyde with copics , added some scrap PP from my stash and some twine. Sentiment is computer generated. Copics: Dragon & Bugs: B32,34,37,YR16,18,20,21,White Gel Pen. Flowers: R20,22,29,59,89. Leaves, Stem & Grass: G09,12,14. Butterfly: V20,G00,N7. Shadow: N1.

Just because I like this image.

Elegant Birthday Card. Didn't really plan to make a birthday card with this lovely image I found in my to colour box. Not sure how long I have had it or where it came from but she sure is gorgeous. My go to colouring medium was my favourite copics and I love the way she turned out. The contrast of the teal and orange really makes the image pop.  The PP is from Kaiser's 61/2 by 61/2 in Paper pad called Bluebelle and the border die from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from a Gina K set called Fanciful Tags by Nina Brackett but I think it may be discontinued. A white seam binding ribbon and bow and some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink finishes of the card. Copics:  Skin & Lips: E50.51,53,R20,24. Hair: E23,25. Dress & Earrings: BG0000,09,10,11,15,49. Hat & Umbrella: YR00,02,61 Shoes: N3.5.7. Ground: W1,3,5. Background: BG0000,000,00.

Catching up on my ATC's for this year.

Image
My January and February ATC's Haven't made it to a meeting this year but did manage to get my ATC's done for the first two months. Love making these cute little 2/12 by 3/12 cards and receiving one in return. The first theme was for pre 1788 Australia and I choose to colour a flowering gum image from  Make it crafty . I choose copics to colour the image, distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress ink and then mounted the image on dark brown card stock. Didn't add a title so that the flower was the focal point.  Copics:  Flowers: R05,24,37. Gumnuts: Y28,W5,7. Leaves: YG93,94,99. Background: B12,14. The February's ATC theme was Medieval- People or Architecture, castles, knights. Now you just had to have a dragon featured there somewhere and this is the result. The castle picture I found on Google, changed the colour to give it a softer look and blended Old Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress inks over it . The dragon image is an old image fr

Love you more than Carrots

Gerda Steiner March Challenge Carrot Bunny Have not posted for a while but it's been rather hectic the last couple of months. Flew to Bali for a friends 60th and had a lovely 8 days with the girls lazing by the pool and shopping. Home for a few weeks then starting repacking for our Stamping cruise to New Zealand. I think I am addicted to them as this is my 5th and its double the fun. Love to cruise and doing my favourite craft is the icing on the cake. Now time to get back into the swing and my first card is for Gerda's monthly challenge.  This month the challenge is to use this cute bunny with his carrot. Gerda has the most adorable images and they are such fun to colour. Coloured the image with copics then cut it out with a zig zag stitched oval die from MFT  and mounted it onto a 2nd oval cut from paper from Kaiser's Bluebelle 61/2 in pad. Cut two rectangles from the same pad, adhered them to an orange card base and mounted the image with dimensional tape . The s

Happy Valentines Flying to Bali this morning and realised that I hadn't upload my card for this month so this is a quick post. The image is coloured with copics then mounted inside the cut out from MFTs on a scrap piece of heart PP. Was a freebie from a magazine ages ago. Coloured a second heart and paws to give it some dimension but doesn't show up on the photo. Added some white ribbon, 3 punched hearts, coloured to match then add it to a red card base with dimensional tape. Also added dimensional magic to the bears eyes, nose, sentiment and the extra hearts. Copics:  Bear: E11,13,15,18,W10. Hearts: R22,35,37,59.

January Challenge Birthday Card My first card for 2016 as I decided to have a nice break. Maybe not a great idea as I got an invitation from a dear friend for a week in Bali for her sister in law's birthday at the last moment and you can't turn down that. Now trying to get things done before I leave next week. Don't Know about others but found my mogo seems to be having a break too. Kept it clean and simple and hope the birthday girl likes it. Sentiment is from a set from SU called Birthday Blossoms. Had to cut it in half to fit but doesn't hurt the stamp and you get more use that way. The image is from Sandi's Samples . The only embellishment is the three hearts, coloured to match then added with mounting tape. Also added Dimensional Magic to add a bit of gloss. Copics:  Roses: R81,83,85,89. Leaves: G24,YG67. Shadow: C0.1.3.

Last Christmas card I promise

For my Hubby This is definitely the last Christmas card I post. I know it is January 2016 but I thought I had added this to the last post before Christmas but somehow it didn't make it. I was so happy with how it turned out and hubby loved it. The image is from Make it Crafty  and is a steam punk santa. Great for male cards, fun to colour and there are a few in the set. I kept the card clean and simple and computer generated the sentiment. Copics: Skin: E51,53,R02,05. Beard: C1.3. Glasses: N1,3,5,100,BG000. Hat & Jacket: R24, 37,89,B000,00. Gloves: W3,5.
